the waiting

I've come so far for so long
I made it my goal
I took the time

Fighting the loneliness

Hiding behind a mask
Avoiding the truth

In denial, holding on to that hope
While hiding behind fear, shying away

Lying in wait
That was my biggest mistake
Learning from the past did no well
